Mr. White and his son are playing chess when Sergeant-Major Morris shows up with the monkey's paw.
Climax
The paw is throw in to the fire and Mr. White takes it out of the fire and keeps it as his own. This happening is making the conflict between Mr. White and the monkey's paw.
Falling Action
Mr. White makes a wish for 200 pounds. The next day the Whites find out that their son lost his life at work and because of that they receive 200 pounds, therefore making the wish come true. A few days later Mrs. White wants to use the second wish to bring their son back alive. However, Mr. White doesn't think that is a good idea, but he wishes for it anyway.
Resolution
After they make the final wish, they hear knocking on the front door. Mrs. White is trying to get to the door, but her husband is holding her back. She breaks free of his hold and runs down to open the door, but is not tall enough to open it. As Mrs. White is trying to get the door open, Mr. White is looking for the paw to wish his son way.
Mrs. White has gotten a chair and is now standing on it to try to unlock the door. Then, she unlocks it.
Mrs. White has gotten the door open. When she looks outside there is nobody there.
