  • Either prepare to die, or else to wed Demetrius.
  • The course of true love never did run smooth
  • Ill Met by moonlight proud Titania
  • All is not well in Athens. Hermia refuses to marry Demetrius, the man her father has chosen for her. Duke Theseus passes a terrible judgement on Hermia..
  • Wake when some vile thing is near!....
  • Hermia decides to run away to a wood near Athens with her true love, Lysander. He tells the weeping Hermia...
  • What angel wakes me from my flowery bed?
  • Meanwhile, tin the wood Oberon, King of the Fairies. angrily greets Titania his queen...
  • How low am I, thou painted maypole
  • And though she be but little, she is fierce.
  • Oberon is so angry with Titania that he squeezes a magic potion in her eye when she is asleep. It will make her love the first thing she sees on waking!
  • My legs are longer though, to run away!
  • And what is the first thing she she sees?.. Its Bottom the weaver - and he is wearing an ass's head! But Titania loves him..
  • Meanwhile Hermia is quarrelling with her best friend Helena, who she thinks has stolen her true love, Lysander. And Helena has called her "little"
  • Helena is really scared of Hermia's anger. So what does she do?
  • But all the confusions are finally sorted out, and bottom and his workmates perform their play before duke Theseus. Bottom kills himself for love!

  • Francis Flute the bellows-mender plays bottoms true love Thisbe. And she too kills herself for love!
  • And farewell friends, thus Thisbe ends, Adieu, Adieu!

  • Everything ends happily. Puck, the mischievous spirit who has caused so much confusion throuout the play, comes forward and asks the croud to applaud.
