- The Indians that Cortés left behind while attacking Narváes revolted against the Spaniards that he left behind to keep an eye on them. On one occasion, the Spaniards dirupted a religious ceremony and caused an outrage. However, Montezuma was able to calm the crowd. Later the Aztecs would turn against Montezuma.
