  • The Great Depression started when the Wall Street Exchange (World's largest stock market) crashed in 1929. Everyone in the world made frantic efforts to sell their shares. On one single day, 24 October, 13 million shares were sold.
  • Bro, do you know the wall street exchange crashed?
  • Yeah, i know and i think this will make the world economy unstable.
  • Yes, now we have no source of income. We have no money.
  • Due to The Great Depression, Factories were shut down and people lost their jobs and had nothing to do.
  • CLOSED
  • What will we do now, we lost our job due to closing of the factory.
  • No sir, please don't fire me.
  • Due to The Great Depression, exports fell sharply. Neither the countries were able to export nor import things. This show that how bad was the economy status of the countries and many people lost their jobs.
  • Sir, we our not having enough money to export our products.
  • Hmm! then close the exports. And also you are fired.

  • In the early 1930s prices dropped so low that many farmers went bankrupt and lost their farms. In some cases, the price of a bushel of corn fell to just eight or ten cents. Some farm families began burning corn rather than coal in their stoves because corn was cheaper.
