  • Year 1869
  • I need to start looking for a job so I can pay my bills.
  • Hello, I am Charles Pillsbury, I heard you were looking for a job. I just started up a business in the flour milling industry. Would you be interested in joining me?
  • Oh, Yes of course! Thank you so much sir!
  • We have only sold a few barrels this week. This business is a big flop. We are going bankrupt.
  • Its not a flop! We will get somewhere. We need better machinery so we don't do everything by hand.
  • Hi, I am Robert Paulson. I moved here from Norway, and I am looking for a job in the flour milling industry.
  • Just wait! Soon I will have the most successful flour business in Minnesota.
  • Your business is never going anywhere! Losers!
  • Don't listen to him, Charles. One day we will have a very successful business
  • I know I can't believe it either.
  • I was very excited to start my new job. Even though it was a new business, I really think it could go somewhere.
  • We are so glad we can work at this business with you guys.
  • Yes I can't believe how successful your business is becoming!
  • Let's get to work. We need to sell all of these barrels
  • I'm glad we could help!
  • In order to make flour, we need to crush wheat into flour, but we don't have machinery to help us so we do everything by hand. We used the treaties between the Dakota and the Ojibwe to buy our machinery.
  • It's Charles Pillsbury and Robert Paulson! You guys are the reason I make such good bread for my family! Thank you!
  • Oh Thank you! I didn't realize the impact we made on peoples lives through flour milling
  • We often got judged and made fun of. That never stopped us from succeeding our dreams.
  • Soon enough, we were able to afford more machinery, and new workers. We now sell 3,000 barrels a day.
  • Year 1874
  • We were able to sell tons of barrels every week, and we even got recognized in public. Our business continued to be successful throughout the rest of our lives. The End.
