- Farmers overproduced foods which made prices go down. Since the prices went down farming declined and made farmers in debt.

- Companies lost money so they had to lower the workers pay check which made workers quit.

- The stock market crashed which made people poor because when they wanted to sell it but no one wanted to buy stocks since it was going down.
- President Hoover tried to help the economic crisis by building public work projects, but it was to late.
- The Tariff Act of 1930 raised about 20% tariffs on foreign products. This made other countries to put tariffs on US products. US imports fell by 40%.
