  • Two pieces of evidence of evolution
  • Biogeography
  • Two pieces of evidence of evolution
  • Today I will be teaching you about the evidence of evolution, the two pieces of evidence I will be using is Biogeography and Fossils
  • Fossil Record (transitional form)
  • - Study of geographical distribution of organisms
  • - It helps explain evolution in terms of the fact that similar environments leads to similar evolution in organisms
  • The first evidence of evolution I will be discussing in Biogeography
  • Biogeography
  • - Darwin realised that organisms living in the Galapagos Islands and the Cape Verde Islands were more similar than their counterparts on the mainland
  • Here is an example of Biogeography proving evolution is Darwins observations
  • Biogeography
  • Bibliography:Evidence for evolution (article). (n.d.). Khan Academy. https://www.khanacademy.org/science/ap-biology/natural-selection/common-ancestry-and-continuing-evolution/a/evidence-for-evolution#:~:text=Biogeography%2C%20the%20study%20of%20the
  • Biogeography
  • To conclude, the two evidences of evolution I covered were Biogeography and Fossil Record
  • Fossil Record (transitional form)
  • - In 1988, scientists found a 370 mya fossilised fish with a hand-like fin, suggesting a transition from a sea based organism to a land organism
  • Here is an example of how fossils prove evolution
  • Fossils
  • - Fossils prove evolution because it shows scientists that organisms are now different from life found today, it also helps scientists reconstruct the evolutionary histories of present-day species.
  • - A fossil is the preserved remains of a dead organism from millions of years ago
  • The second evidence of evolution I will be discussing is Fossils
  • Fossils
