- Each year millions of dollars are spent combating the sometimes loosing battle of preventing the spread of foreign invasive aquatic species in the US
- Most of the species have been introduced by neglect, but some have been intentionally introduced and have not produced the intended results...
- Invasive species upset sensitive ecosystems and crowd out native species causing irreparable harm to natural habitats
