People want to learn about the local culture so gastro-tourism can be seen as a form of cultural tourism and the two kinds of tourism are mutually supportive. This builds up local pride in the food and strengthens both traditional food cultures and the local people.To conclude, gastronomic tourism has brought benefits to the economy of Malaysia, created job opportunities for Malay citizens, enabled tourists to recognise and enjoy the uniqueness of Malaysia and enhanced the image of Malaysian cuisine.
