to do list
TO MUCH STUFF!
To do list turkey (10 lbs) vegetables (all kinds, 2 lbs) Pre mashed potatoes cranberries (canned) sweet potatoe (3 lbs) marshmallows
At the grocery store...
I still can't believe I'm agreeing to do this!
At the food section...
Ah, here's the turkey. It says on the bag that it's $5.99 a pound for 10 lb turkey. Plus tax! Thats an expensive turkey. But I still have to get it for my family.
But how am I going to solve this?
I know I'll make a word problem out of it. Here it goes... Sally is at the grocery store. She has to buy a turkey. There is one for $5.99 a lb for 10 lbs plus a 10% tax. How much will the turky be?
Okay, so here are the frozen vegetables. Time for the second word problem. Sally is at the store to buy stuff she has froze vegetables on her list. It says that the frozen vegetables are $4.50 a pound for 2 pounds. How much will the frozen vegetables be?
Wow, the pre-mashed potatoes were so close to the frozen vegetables. Anyway time to continue the word problem. Sally has to find the pre-mashed potatoes next. She finds them and they are $5.00 plus a 10% tax. How much are the pre-mashed potatoes?
Okay so this is the canned cranberries. So that means that I only have two things left. marshmallows and sweet potatoes. Here's the word problem. Sally finds the canned cranberries. They are $2.39 a can plus a 10% tax. How much are the canned cranberries?
Yay! The sweet potatoes and the marshmallows are right next to each other. That means less work. Here's the last word problem. sally found the marshmallows and sweet potatoes right next to each other. The sweet potatoes are $3.50 per pound and sally wants 3 pounds plus the 10% tax. The marshmallows are $3.99 plus the 10% tax. How much are the sweet potatoes and marshmallows?
At the aisle...
I don't think the cashier gave me the right amount of money back. I gave her $100 for everything that I bought which was $9.86 and she gave me back just .10 back. What do you think? Wait $100-$99.86 is .14. So she needs to give me 4 more cents.
Umm, excuse me Ms. I think you gave me the wrong amount of change. you gave me back .10 when you should have given me back .14. So I think I still need .4.
Oh dear, it seems I have. Here is your 4 cents.
Back at home...
Finally I'm at home after that shopping extravaganza!
That whole shopping ordeal wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! I learned a new way to solve the price of items in the store.
See I told you it wouldn't be as bad as you thought it would be.
