Texte du Storyboard

  • William Garrison had attracted many followers, and eventually abolitionists had brought their thoughts to President Abraham Lincoln. I, Frederick Douglas, wrote many newspapers from my experiences as a slave and why we should not allow it.
  • We believe that the wrong treatment and use of slaves is wrong and should not be allowed in a great country like ours. Slaves are not even allowed a proper education, or the right to vote. They are forced to sleep in crowded sheds and cook for their masters.
  • My Son is not going to school with people like them! They should not have the right to vote.
  • why are we being treated unfairly because of our skin?
  • African Americans did not experience equal rights when they were free. They could not vote, were often arrested, and attacked by leaders of many clans who did not like them.
  • My Name is Frederick Douglas, I was a former slave. My owner was from Massachusetts, but I was one of the many slaves who was able to escape from slavery.
  • We will be teaching you about the abolition reform. The time when slavery was finally abolished for good.
  • I am Harriett Tubman, also a former slave who worked in the underground railroad. I would help runaway slaves navigate through the networks and connections to reach North America and Canada.
