- I was being sold and bought. Rich people were fighting for me and debating amongst themselves the highest amount of money was offered for me.
- I am about to work on the plantation as an adult. I don't want to go there, and suffer 14 hours below the hot sun and leave my sister alone on the fields.
- I am shocked with what I just saw. I saw a pregnant women being whipped just because of working at a slower pace than the rest.
- NO MOORE DANCING!!!
- I will never forget when I saw a new friend I made in the plantation being hung alive... My friend was 13 years old. I saw blood coming out and was shocked to hear his ribs cracking. While he was alive.
- I remember looking to everyone's back full of bloody scars and also the arms and heads. My arms were also full of blood. The masters constantly whip and hit us. I couldn't believe they haven't fallen yet. But it feels that it will be soon.
- Even though the time spent in the plantation was hard work and painful beatings. We sometimes had our joyful moments when we danced which was a tradition from Africa. But our masters are saying no to that also.
