Texte du Storyboard

  • Macbeth is welcoming his guests
  • You know your own degrees; sit down. At first And at last, the hearty Welcome.
  • Tis Banqous then
  • The murder Macbeth hired appears to tell Macbeth he killed Banquo but his son got away
  • There's blood upon thy face
  • Banquos ghost appears. Macbeth acknowledges Banquo isnt at the banquet and tells them he hopes nothing bad has happened to him. Ross invites the king to sit with them.
  • His absence, sir, Lays blame upon his promise. Please 't your highnessTo grace us with your royal company?
  • Here had we now our country's honor roofed, Were the graced person of our Banquo present, Who may I rather challenge for unkindness Than pity for mischance
  • Macbeth acknowledges the ghost of Banquo and thinks is a joke being pulled on him so he asks who has done this. Lennox asks Macbeth what he means.
  • What, my good lord?
  • Which of you have done this?
  • Macbeth starts talking to the Ghost of Banquo in front of everyone. Ross suggests everyone should leave because the kings obviously not well.
  • (to GHOST) Thou canst not say I did it. Never shake Thy gory locks at me.
  • Gentleman, rise. His highness is not well
  • Lady Macbeth tries to salvage the banquet and tells everyone that these fits are normal and to just ignore Macbeth when he's like this. She tells them to stay and eat. Lady Macbeth asks Macbeth whether or not he's a man and he says he is and a bold on at that.
  • Ay, and a bold one, that dare look on that. Which might appall the devil
  • Sit, worthy friends. My lord is often thus And hath been from is youth. Pray you, keep seat. The fit is momentary; upon a thought He will again be well. If much you note him You shall offend him and extend his passion. Feed and regard him not (aside to MACBETH) Are you a man?
  • Banquos ghost appears again and Macbeth acknowledges Banquo and yells at the ghost in front of everyone. Lady Macbeth is still trying to keep the guests calm and do damage control.
  • (seeing the GHOST) Avaunt, and quit my sight! Let the earth hide thee. The ones are marrowless, thy blood is cold. Thou hast no speculation in those eyes Which thou dost glare with!
  • Think of this, good peers, But as a thing of custom. Tis no other; Only it spoils the pleasure of the time.
  • Macbeth is telling the guests he doesn't know how he's the only one afraid of the terrible things he's seeing when everyones look right at them and they make him feel unlike himself. Ross asks Macbeth what things he's talking about.
  • Can such things be, And overcome us like a summers cloud, Without our special wonder? You make me strange Even to the disposition that I owe, When now I think you can behold such sights, And keep the natural ruby of your cheeks, When mine is blanched with fear.
  • What sights, my lord?
  • Before Macbeth can spill any secrets in his state Lady Macbeth bids everyone goodnight and tells them politely to leave. Lennox Wishes better health for Macbeth.
  • Good night, and better health Attend his majesty!
  • I pray you, speak not. He grows worse and worse. Question enrages him. At once, good night. Stand not upon the order of your going, But go at once.
  • A kind good night to all!
