  • Good morning students!Today we will be learning about the process of pollination. So, let's begin by first discussing what reproduction is.
  • The activity will be a about modeling the process of insect pollination. We will go outside and I will a little bit more once we are out.
  • Please take a seat.
  • As some of you may know, reproduction is vital to ensure the survival and continuance of every species.

  • Flowers produce a fragrance or vibrant colors to attract a pollinator- a bee, an insect, animal..
  • Since plants cannot move and search for mates, they reproduce through the process of pollination. Some plants get pollinated by the wind or by an animal- . Such as an insect, bird, or bat.

  • To understand better the process of pollination, we will be doing an interesting activity outside.
  • Pollination benefits both the pollinator and the flower.  The bees get to eat and the flowers get to reproduce.

  • For now, let me give five of you these poker chips. And 15 of you will get these stickers.

  • Susan, Karen, George, and Victor take these paper bags. You guys will be the bees. The rest of you scatter around,; and you will be the flowers.
  • The "bees" will be visiting as many flowers as you can. Remember, you are only allowed to collect one poker chip per flower. Flowers once you find a spot, you are not allowed to move. And remember to put a sticker on the bees' back every time you get visited. Understood? Then let's get started.
  • Then, guys what did we learn today?
