Texte du Storyboard

  • Mr. Dunce was on a walk when he came across a random beaming yellow object across the bridge by his cottage. It made an alarming ticking noise. It looked small from a distance but the closer he got, it appeared larger.
  • .
  • what is that machine with the ticking noise??
  • Mr. Dunce got too close to the yellow machine and made him teleport into a cave. The machine was set to 150 million years ago which is known as the Jurassic Period.
  • Oh no! I time-traveled to the Mesozoic Era
  • Because the machine was out of juice and needed time to recharge up, Mr. Dunce decided to take a look at how it was like the Mesozoic Era. He came across ferns, ginkgoes, bennettitales and even "cycadeoids".
  • Look at all the flora here!
  • Mr. Dunce noticed that life was especially diverse in the oceans thriving reef ecosystems, shallow-water invertebrate communities, and large swimming predators, including reptiles and squid like animals. On land, dinosaurs and flying pterosaurs dominated the ecosystems, and birds made their first appearance.
  • All this bacteria and fungi yikesss!
  • Mr. Dunce got to take a good look at the weather, climate, and atmosphere while being in the Jurassic Period. The atmosphere of the Earth 80 million years ago was discovered to have 50% more oxygen than modern air. Cretaceous air was supercharged with oxygen. The climate of the Jurassic was warmer than the present, and there were no ice caps. Forests grew close to the poles, with large arid expanses in the lower latitudes. It has been suggested that increased volcanic and seafloor-spreading activity during the Jurassic released large amounts of carbon dioxide.
  • A few minutes later and Mr. Dunce is back to where he started. The time machine is recharged and ready to teleport him back to the 2000's. The Jurassic Period began in a world marked by the extinction event at the end of the Triassic, but is not known for any mass extinctions of similar extent. In the oceans, there was a smaller extinction approximately 183 million years ago that is thought to have been the result of large volcanic eruptions.
