- work was being replaced with machines so many people had to move to the city to find work.
- new inventions such as the 'spinning jenny' meant that textiles were made quicker. soon massive factories were built for them.
- because of the factories being built child laborer's became popular but they often had bad working conditions, food, treatment and punishments.
- steam energy was used to power trains, boat factories and more. this helped Britain become rich but it had a big affect on climate change and peoples health.
- some people became self-made millionaires whereas before you had to inherit money to get rich.
- population increased rapidly and quickly, so lots of people had to live in the slums.
