- Wow! Take look at the price of this shirt! It used to be $200 but its on sale for $100!
- Yeah but look at the brand tag, you can buy this exact shirt for $30 at a different store! This store is using anchoring to make you think that $100 is a good price compared to 200$ despite your own previous estimate that its not worth that much!
- Wow your right! I won't make that mistake again!
- Okay I got milk, it's 20% fat though which seems pretty high...
- No don't you see, the company is using framing to make their product more appealing! 80% fat free and 20% fat are the same thing! 80% fat free just sounds better!
- Oh look! This milk with the blue packaging is a bit more expensive but it's 80% fat- free!
- I'm not so sure...
- You're right! I'll just get this cheaper one then since they are the same. I'm 100% sure this milk should be $1, it can't be that expensive to make!
- Objectively that's a pretty standard price for milk actually. I think you were blinded by your overconfidence in your judgment of the price. You were putting too much confidence on your reliable judgment when maybe you shouldn't have. After all it has been 10 years since you bought milk!
