Texte du Storyboard

  • Ugh, I hate it here in Barn Crack Wood Chip Creekville. Nothing ever happens in this deadbeat town. If my rich chemist boyfriend hadn't cheated on me and kicked me out of our apartment I would've never had to come back here! My hometown sucks! I should be in the city where I belong!
  • Molinda? Is that you?
  • The truth is... I never left. After pops died in the barn fire I was left to take care of the Christmas tree farm alone. Life's been great, until... Nevermind that, how have you been?
  • OMG! M-m-m-molio? My ex high-school heart of gold boyfriend that I broke up with! I haven't seen you since I moved to the city. W-w-w-w-what are you doing here?
  • Well you see... I left Harvard after I completed my masters and got my PhD. My college days were the best 2 weeks of my life. After that I boarded a flight to Sweden to receive a Nobel chemistry prize. That's where I met D A V I D. *sigh* I was so naive back then, if only I knew he would cheat on me and dump me on the street. Anyways, how's the town been?
  • If I'm being totally honest... the towns been in decline. All the Christmas trees on the farm have been dying! I'm worried that Christmas in Barn Crack Wood Chip Creekville might be gone... FOREVER. Come along, let me show you...
  • I'm not surprised, the scientists in this town won't be able to give you a solution. Maybe I can help... we separate molecules all the time in the lab. Extracting the ammonium from the trees might be deadly so we only need to get the dichromate out. There is one key measurement that we can use to help us. Moles. TO THE LAB!
  • Their roots have been poisoned by ammonium dichromate. I've been to every scientist in town and none of them have been able to give me a solution. The ammonium occurs naturally in the tree; however, it has covalently bonded with the invasive and deadly dichromate.
  • OOUUURRRR NOOUUURRRR! W-w-w-w-what's happened to them??
  • Precisely! Ya know, you're more than what meets the eye. I guess I just started misunderstanding you after the breakup. I realize now that... I never should have gone to the city, I mean look where its gotten me... Nowhere.
  • So... what even is a mole?
  • So by using the mole we can find out how much of the ammonium dichromate is just dichromate. And then once we figure that out we can find out how much we need to separate out!
  • A mole is a base unit amount of substance. It is important because it represents the link between the microscopic and the macroscopic, especially in terms of mass. We use moles because atoms, molecules, and other particles are all extremely small and can't be measured using traditional methods.
  • No Molinda, you were meant to go to the city. And as for our breakup, you have to accept the fact that it was meant to be. The two of us were rowing boats... in different directions. You had dreams and aspirations, whereas I was destined to stay in this town forever.
  • Our feelings for each other were irrational and we have to start moving forward. Now forget all this sappy talk... lets get down to business.
  • You're right, lets get to work!
