- Mathilde is distressed because she wishes she had a more luxurious life.She sits at home and has a maid clean her house.
- Climax
- The necklace is gone!
- Mathilde and her husband sat down to dinner and her husband pulled out a letter inviting them to a ball. Mathilde gets frustrated and asks him what he wants her to do with it because she has nothing to wear,
- Falling Action
- Mathilde got a dress and a beautiful necklace which she borrowed from her friend.She went to the ball and the women envied her.The men all sought after getting to be introduced to her.
- Resolution
- I had to spend 10 years saving for that necklace.
- Mine was fake!!!
- Mathilde loses Madame Forestier's necklace.They go out and try to find the necklace.
- How?That's impossible!
- Mathilde and her husband had to move into an apartment. Mathilde had to fire the maid and clean everything herself.They had to save money for 10 years to pay off the new necklace.Her husband had to bargain the rest of his life.
- Can things get any worse.
- Mathilde gets frustrated with Madame Forestier because she had to save for 10 years for the necklace.Madame Forestier tells Mathilde that the necklace is fake.
