  • Hi! I am Ms.Cherry. Today I'll tell you about my journey.... Let's Begin. oh! forgot to tell you, that girl...she is Anna
  • HI! that's me Anna
  • first the food is ingested. enzymes in the saliva act on Ms. cherry to break down starches into sugars.
  • First I go into the  mouth....where i exercise to get  in the form that can go to next part. my trainers are enzymes in saliva.
  • oesaphagus is a muscular tube that connects the pharynx, which is a part of an upper section of the gastrointestinal tract. It supplies swallowed food along with its length.
  • and then into the oesophagus...where i am pushed down  by a series of muscle contraction also known  as peristalsis movement
  • physical digestion of food happens in the mouth by teeth.
  • stomach serves as a muscular bag which is situated towards the left side of the abdominal cavity, beneath the diaphragm.ital organ acts as a storage for the food and provides enough time to digest meals
  • Teeth are designed for grinding food particles into small pieces and are moistened with saliva before the tongue pushes the food into the pharynx.
  • and  then I land in small intestine where the final digestion takes place
  • pharynx is mainly involved in the passage of chewed/crushed food from the mouth through the oesophagus
  •  The inside of the small intestine is lined with villi that absorb nutrients from the liquid mixture called chyme produced in the stomach ...
  • Food is kept in the stomach for some  time
  • And...I land in the stomach. The stomach  produces digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acid that maintains the process of digestion.
  • Small intestine is present just behind the stomach and acquires a maximum area of the abdominal cavity. complete digestion takes place in ileum part of small intestine
  • uh....it feels like a roller coaster ride over here.it is highly coiled...just imagine it's 6.5m long.
  • small intestine receives digesting enzymes from the pancreas and liver (via the pancreatic and common bile ducts)
  • Folds and projections in the small intestine's wall increase the surface area for absorption.
