  • This is a waterdrop that is on a leaf in a tree in Umstead Park. This tree has released Walter onto one of its leaves. Walter is very excited to begin the water cycle again.
  • Hi I'm Walter waterdrop.
  • It looks like Walter is meeting the Sun. This will cause the water drop to start the process of transpiration. This is when the sun starts to heat up the water drop while the drop is released from a plant. The drop will now go up into the atmosphere as water vapor.
  • Oh. Hi there Sun! Looks like we meet again.
  • Hey there Walter.
  • The sun has now finished the transpiration process on Walter the water drop. Walter is now starting the process of condensation. This is when the water drop has transformed into water vapor and starts to float into the atmosphere.
  • Bye Sun!
  • See you later Walter.
  • This is Walter up high in the troposphere. The troposphere is the layer where weather happens and where we live. It keeps floating up and up until gravity stops it from going up anymore. He starts to expel heat making him colder and he condenses with other droplets that turned into water vapor.
  • Woah. It's cool up here! It's a little chilly though.
  • Walter is now getting heavier and heavier with the help of gravity. He has also condensed into a raindrop with other fellow drops. He just keeps getting heavier and heavier. Until all of the sudden...
  • It's getting very dark in this cloud. This is my least favorite part.
  • Walter is now going through the process of precipitation falling from the cumulonimbus cloud that he was a part of. he ended up landing right back where he started! Finally this is the end of the water cycle that Walter took.THE END.
  • Yay! This is fun. Oh! It's Umstead Park and my tree!
