- Miss Maudie
- "Even in 1935, Maycomb, Alabama is already an old town- a tired old town. (Pg. 10)
- Boo Radley
- Atticus
- "You see, you never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view." (Pg. 21)
- She's old and knows a lot about the town that she lives in. She also believes that killing a mockingbird is a sin.
- Mrs. Dubose
- He's around 30 years old and no one has seen him in 15 years. He doesn't come out of the house and people believe that he is sick in the head.
- Scout
- He's nearly fifty years old and the father of Scout and Jem. He's white but defends black people and gets hate for it. He also teaches his children to be better poeple.
- Calpurnia
- Shes old, mean, and racist. She's grumpy so she doesn't like kids and she sits on her front porch watching them.
- One of Atticus's children. Wants her father to do more with the family, such as teach her things and play games with her. She also wants her father to be more active.
- She's black and works as a worker in Atticus's home. She serves as the missing mother figure in their family.
