The Forbidden Walls

- In front of the third place coffee shop
- Do you want the Brunch Special?
- Sure!
- The waiter comes with the piping hot pie slice to complement their large cups of latte coffee.
- Mm.... that looks so good! Could we know the recipe of these? I have never tasted such yummy caramel chocolate chip pie before!
- Ohh.. Top secret....!
- No sorry, it's a top secret recipe. Only the owner of this cafe knows how it's done. It is made with a special ingredient.
- The waiter leaves the scene. Two colleagues talking.
- What do you think the secret recipe is? Maybe it's something to do with the fudge or filling, as nowhere else is there such a fudgy and delicious filling in town! I wonder what I could be?
- No, it can't be that, that would just make it thick not gooey.. What could it be?...
- Look it's sticking to my hands! I wonder what its make it out of?
- Oh wow! Look at those walls.. They look little like they are crumbling...maybe the secret recipe is hidden somewhere in these walls!
- Later on, that week, while seeing a group of students trying out science experiments, they start to discuss the chemicals which they might be using..
- Look, they are making a small volcano, I used to do that while I was in school! Wasn't it food colouring, baking soda and vinegar?
- You know in my chemistry class they talked about how cornflour has some great sticky properties, maybe they added that?
- Yes, it was! I also did that when I was in school for a science fair! Look it's working! It brings back so many memories..
- Walking around the park....
- Hey, what is we tried to find the recipe with the secret ingredient from the crumbling forbidden walls of the cafe using some sort of chemical?
- We really must find the secret recipe, maybe they have it hidden somewhere in this store!
- A little while later, while resting in the grass below a large shady tree on a warm summer afternoon.
- Yes, imagine they were just made of water droplets floating in the sky! It looks so calming!
- Oh let's take a closer look.. It looks fake! I wonder what's behind this? We can't look now though or everyone will see what we are doing. We better go now..
- Water droplets... that gives me an idea! What if we use a water sprayer and then add some baking soda, like they used for the volcano experiment, on those walls of the cafe? Maybe that would work!
- hmmm.... I don’t know....
- Ok then let's plan to get these supplies at the grocery store, and I will meet up with you at the corner of 5th Avenue tonight. We can then sneak inside and try this out!
- Yeah! That's a great idea! But what type of chemical would work on that?
- Later on that night...
- Look at these clouds! Don't they look amazing?
- They tip toe into the cafe, in the pitch dark and shine their light...
- Oh wow! Maybe they would bubble up and expose the secret recipe behind! As the walls did look like they could have been made from thick paper in a brick pattern matching the other walls.... I think that this might just work!
- Ok the see you soon! I really excited about this!
- Hi! We just made it, I just saw the owner leave the shop!
- Let's go! Quickly!
- Nobody's there-perfect!
- Ok let's try I it out! You spray it with the water and I will add the soda powder!
- Ok! Here it goes!
- Wow! There it is!!
- Ok, now what? Just take photos of the recipe using your iPad and then put it back as if nobody touched it.
- Ok! Click! Click! Click! Done!
- Ok now we need to put it back.. How will be cover the wall back up?
- Oh no! I hadn't thought of that! Let's just get some bricks from the construction zone next door, as they are renovating with brick house that would work.
- They go outside and get the materials.
- Hey it looks just like the one that was used before! Great! Let's use this!
- Look I found a facing which looks just like bricks but it's not!
- Back inside the cafe.....
- All done! It looks like nothing happened here!
- Wow, it looks like nobody was here! And we got the recipe too! Ok, now let get out of here!
- They run outside and go back to Mary's house to look through their pictures of the book
- Hey - it says, honey is in the recipe!
- Oh yes! That must be what makes it more gooey than anywhere else!
- Outside Mary's house........
- Now I have all of the things needed to start my own bakery!
- A few days later when they returned to the shop.....
- How are you today? Would you like the same as usual?
- A few months later after graduation, Mary started her own bakery. A new customer walks in..
- It's a top secret recipe (winks at each other).
- Wow these are delicious! How do you make these?
- Yes! And nobody will ever know how you make these pies either!
- It's delicious as usual!
