- When Freak came along Max wanted to get out from the down under and he wanted to go on the adventures with Freak and his call was Freak. This was a start of wanting to adventure.
- Supreme Crisis
- Loretta and Iggy helps Max figure out what his dad was called instead of "him" like his Gram and Grim called his dad. Loretta and Iggy called Max's dad Killer Kane and that helped Max out with knowing his name and knowing why he got put in jail in the first place.
- Reward and Return
- One of the tests was when Freak and Max found a purse that belonged to Loretta and wanted to return it but it was in a bad place in the town so they went to each door and asked without getting in trouble with any fights or anything and soon found Loretta, the person the bag belonged to.
- New Life
- Killer Kane took Max from the down under, Killer Kane told him not to make a noise and to get up and go with him and they went to Loretta and Iggy's house and stayed there until Killer Kane thought it wasn't a safe place anymore. Killer Kane didn't seem fazed with this, but max was scared.
- Loretta tried helping Max out of the rope that Killer Kane tied on him and only got one untied and the other one started and Killer Kane saw and then Killer Kane tried choking Loretta and then Max to get rid of "evidence" and then Freak came and saved Max from Killer Kane.
- Freak gave Max a notebook and Freak told Max to write all of their adventures and memories in the notebook and then Freak died. Max found it hard to get through it but he did slowly by writing a book and Max proving he was smarter than what he thought.
