- What happened Raina? Are you okay?
- Oh my god Raina, your two front teeth....they came out!
- Ow...
- What is that white stuff on your teeth.
- What happened to your teeth Raina? They look so weird.
- Well... I was running and I fell so my two front teeth got hurt.
- Mrs.Telgemeier, I suggest that we replace Raina's two front teeth with fake ones. After that we could give her a full set of braces to move the rest of her teeth closer to the middle of her mouth.
- Thank you Dr.Dragoni, we will talk it over.
- Whats her problem?
- Raina and her friends Kelli and Melissa just came back from their girl scout meeting and are racing each other to Raina's house. While Raina is chasing Kelli she grabs on to the back of Kelli's shirt but she loses her grip and trips. When Raina trips she falls flat on her face. Raina does not realize it at first but after a few minutes her mouth starts hurting. Kelli realizes that Raina's two front teeth are severally injured. One of her teeth is stuck in her gum and one of her teeth fell out completely.
- Come on Raina,You know it was a joke.
- You all are not real friends.You humiliated me in front of everyone, you are mean to me, and you call me names like vampire girl. I am done being your friend.
- Sure! That would be so fun!
- After Raina's accident her dentist, Dr.Golden puts a white cast on her two front teeth which would keep them in place while they healed, whe. Raina also started school again. When she gets to school everyone asks her about her teeth and everyone treats her differently even her friends. Some of her friends even start to make fun of her and they start to say mean things about her. After Dr.Golden takes of the white cast he sees that Raina's front teeth do not line up with the rest of her teeth so he decides to give Raina braces on two of her teeth.
- Hey guys,do you want to come over to my house and hang out?
- I have so much homework but I can still come.
- Wow Raina, you are such a good artist. Where did you learn to paint like that?
- After a few months of Raina's treatment, her orthodontist, Dr.Dragoni starts to realize that her teeth are not responding to the treatment. Dr.Dragoni suggests that Raina get her two front teeth removed and get a set of two fake teeth. After that she could get a full set of braces, to move the rest of top teeth closer to the center. Raina and her family decide that this would be the best thing for Raina's teeth and they decide to go with this treatment.

- After Raina's friends humiliated her in front of the whole school, Raina finally loses it. She has been pushed around her friends for a long time. They always made fun of her teeth and now she finally decided to tell them what was on her mind. Raina decided to stop hanging out with her friend group. She always let her friend's mean statements get to her but now that she stood up to them, she took away their power in a way.
- Raina starts ignoring her old friends and she makes new friends who don't judge her based on her looks and her braces. Her new friends treat her with a lot of respect and Raina has many things in common with her new friends and her new friends bring out the best in her. Raina is having so much fun with her new friends that she stops worrying about her teeth and she doesn't even realize that she is very close to getting them off for good.
- Raina started to throw her passion into things that she enjoyed rather then feeling sorry for herself. She realized the way she had been letting how she looked on the outside affect how she felt on the inside. The more she focused on her interests, the more it brought out the things she liked about herself and that affected how other people saw her. Raina also finally finished her dental treatment and now she would start seeing her parent's dentist, Dr.Miller.
