- The Battle of Berlin was one of the major battles that made Germany surrender. Germany lost a lot of their allies in mid 1918 due to this Germany had major food shortages. Adolf Hitler also committed suicide a few days before the surrender of Germany which was when his dictatorship came to an end. Germany no longer had their ruler.
- The united states and the soviet union quickly realized that they needed one another in order to defeat such a powerful and destructive country that was Nazi Germany. The soviet union was an ally of Nazi Germany even helping them take over other countries. This was until Germany broke the treaty between the two countries and decided to
- The Manhattan project was a research group of scientist and the united states government to create the Atomic Bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima, And Nagasaki japan. This project started in 1939.
- The Bombing of Hiroshima happened on August 6th 1945. The united states used an Atomic bomb to quickly end the war, this was not their only reason for dropping the bomb. They were also dropping the bomb for retaliation for what happened at pearl harbor.
- The bombing of Nagasaki happened on August 9th 1945. This was the second bomb to be dropped on japan in hopes to end the war. This bomb if often considered unnecessary since japan would have likely surrendered after the first bomb.
- Japan surrendered mainly because the soviet union joined the war and not as their ally. They also surrendered due to the two atomic bombs that got dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
