Texte du Storyboard

  • I done locked myself into a pattern trying to take care of you all that I forgot about myself!!
  • I gave eighteen years of my life to stand in the same spot with you. Don’t you think I wanted other things?
  • Naw... I ain´t mad at you, Gabe. If I was mad at you I would tell you about it
  • You ain´t mad at me, is you Troy?
  • How you doing, Gabe?
  • You're too lazy to work. Then you wanna wonder why you ain't got what I got.
  • Let me hold the ten dollars Pop. I told you Bonnie working.
  • In Act 2 scene 1, Troy breaks the news to his wife Rose that he is about to be a father to another woman's child. This made Rose feel like she's been betrayed and mislead because Troy never explained and told her about his feelings until he couldn't bear them by himself.
  • In Act 1, Scene 2, Troy´s brother Gabriel decides to drop by for a visit. He´s been in the war and suffered an injury which led him to getting a metal plate in his head. For him getting that plate he received five thousand dollars, which Troy keeps because Gabriel is in no condition to manage the money. He lived with Troy and Rose at one point but now he lives on his own. So you can say Troy had a family responsibility to take care of Gabriel.
  • In Act 1 Scene 2, Troy is upset at the fact his son Lyons has no urgency to become self-reliant in a harsh and cruel world, where you don't get anything that you don't work hard for. Lyons just wants $10 from his father but since Troy wasn't there for most of his life, he doesn't want to hear none of the "fatherly" advice he has to give. He just feels it's too late for Troy to care.
