- Tiresias hinted Oedipus’s blind and dark future loudly without holding it back for which he has been begging for. Oedipus dismissed Tiresias's words entirely because they were too painful to hear, but his words foreshadow exactly what will happen
- the prophet Tiresias condemned me!!!
- I say that you are living in darkest shame with the closest of your family. And you know nothing of your sin.
- Jocasta says that there is no way the oracle is true because Laius was killed by the out land robbers, at a place where three roads meet. Oedipus gets scared and worried because Oedipus killed a man where the three roads meet.
- What do I do?
- What he told you is not true. Please don't listen to him.  Laius should die at the hands of his own child. 
- jocasta tells oedipus that there was one surviving witness from the scene of Laius’s murder - a servant who begged to become a sherpard out in the country. Oedipus must speak to this man and he is scared that he might be the one who killed Lauis
- I fear... I fear... that I have said too much and therefore I must see this man
- the only surviving witness is shepherd
