  • Setting
  • Rising Action
  • More Rising Action
  • The setting of a Christmas Carol is a dark and poor Victorian England.
  • Climax
  • We are introduced to Scrooge, a man who is very cruel to the people around him and hates Christmas. His business partner, Jacob Marley, died seven years ago. Scrooge refuses to donate to charity, is cruel to his nephew, and he doesn't want to give his clerk Christmas day off. Scrooge returns home, and to his surprise he finds Marley's face on his door knocker. Scrooge then is visited by Marley's ghost covered in shackles. Marley warns Scrooge to change his ways or he will end up like him. He then tells Scrooge three ghosts will soon visit him, and then Marley leaves.
  • Falling Action
  • Scrooge is now visited by the Ghost of Christmas Past, who takes Scrooge to previous traumatic memories. Scrooge sees his lonely childhood Christmas by himself at the school his father sent him to. We also see memories like Scrooge's fiance leaving him. These memories are probably why Scrooge hates the holiday of Christmas. The next ghost then visits, The Ghost of Christmas Present. This spirit takes Scrooge to places like his fiance's new family, a ship of miners, his nephew's Christmas party, and the Cratchit's house. This is where we learn Tiny Tim will soon die. Scrooge starts to regret his past.
  • Conclusion
  • God bless us, Every one!
  • After being shown nobody would be sad about his death, Scrooge is taken to his own grave by the Ghost of Christmas Future. This is when Scrooge decides he will change and begs the ghost to let him change his future.
  • Scrooge is now grateful he gets a second chance. He runs around town happy, donates to the poor (since he refused to do this earlier), and pays a kid to bring him a big turkey.
  • Scrooge is finally happy. He attends his nephew's Christmas party and quotes Tiny Tim. He says, "God bless us, Every one!"
