- *People praying to the Sun God for help.*
- Gilgamesh was the name of a monarch who ruled Mesopotamia. He was part god, part man, and was sent by the sun god to govern over the city of Uruk. Gilgamesh had power and wealth, but he always was a lonely which made him become cruel.
- "There is no one as strong as I am."
- I can't capture him he is too strong.
- Bring this monster to me so I cam show you what I'm talking about. I will destroy him in front of the Uruk's entire population.
- Gilgamesh commanded that a large wall be erected around the city, and that the men leave their work and families to do so. He forced women to provide food and barred the children from entering. People became increasingly agitated as the wall rose higher.
- People prayed to the Sun God for assistance. When the Sun God heard their petitions, he created another hero who was as powerful as Gilgamesh. Enkidu was his name. Enkidu was sent to live with animals because Gilgamesh had learned nothing from living with people.
- The wall shall be stopped and families shall reunite
- When King Gilgamesh learned of Enkidu, he was angry because he knew there was someone else as powerful as him, but he denied it. He warned the hunter that he would destroy the monster, so he order that Enkidu came to the city by sending Shamhat to lure him with her songs.
- Shamhat returned to the jungle where she first encountered Enkidu. Shamhat had begun to sing, and the sound of her voice had cast a spell over the jungle. Then Enkidu approached her. Shamhat was the one who had taught him how to communicate. They fell in love after.
- Enkidu fought Gilgamesh upon his arrival in the city, Gilgamesh was about to fall during the battle , but Enkidu raised him up, which confused the king. Soon after, the king realized what it was to have a friend which he later become like a brother. He ordered the wall to be stopped and families to be reunited.
