- Jeez, it's so hot out!
- Yeah dude. It's obviously climate change.
- What's climate change?
- Climate change effects temperature, weather patterns, and our atmosphere.
- That sounds awful. Why is this happening?
- Believe it or not, it's because of humans!
- Why?
- Unfortunately, we burn fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas. This releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
- Interesting. And this just makes the Earth hotter?
- No, climate change does a lot more than that.
- Like what?
- Well, one big example is the effect climate change has on ecosystems.
- Wait a second. What is an ecosystem?
- An ecosystem is an area where a group of plants or animals interact!
- I see. What can we do to stop climate change?
- Great question! There is a lot that we can do before it's too late.
- The most important thing is that we acknowledge the problem, and that we try hard to find solutions to fix it.
- We can minimize our energy usage, use more public transportation, recycle, waste less, and more!
- Awesome! I'll definitely try some of those.
- Thanks for teaching me today about climate change, I learned a lot.
- Of course, dude! Now let's play some ball and not forget to put on sun screen!
