- Not much but like, well, you know, my girl called me just before and told me she had some test after we got together last week at her house. She said that I should get one as well but I dunno.
- Hmmm okay.You spoken to the community Nurse about it yet? She's pretty good with this kind of stuff
- Nahh I don't really wanna.It doesn't really matter though does it?
- Yeah alright, plus my girl said I had to get it before she would see me again.
- Could be nothing but you'd wanna make sure yeah? Nurse J issuper chill, I can take you over and introduce you if you want?

- Umm, well my girl said she had this test, something about Chlamydia and that I should get one too?
- Okay LLuka no worries at all, if you'll follow me we can sit down and talk about it before you decide anything?
- Not really, other than my girl saying I needed some kind of test for it?
- So Lluka, Do you know much about Chlamydia or what is it?
- Okay, well Chlamydia is what we call a STI or Sexually TransmittedInfection. It is usually passed from person to person through unprotected sexual activity (PlaySafe, 2021).
- As you are between the ages of 15-30 and of Indigenous Heritage you are also unfortunately 3 times as likely to be diagnosed with Chlamydia (Kirby Institute, 2017, Graham et al. 2015). Chlamydia can sometimes appear as symptoms in males as discomfort when urinating and abnormal discharge from the penis (BetterHealth, 2020).
- But Chlamydia is also very easy to test for by using a urine sample and can be treated with some antibiotic tablets (Betterhealth, 2020).It is definitely better to have it treated as if left untreated Chlamydia can cause swelling in the testicles (balls) and scarring which can cause issues in the future with having children (Betterhealth, 2020).
- Hmmm, will anyone know if I have been tested? and do I have to tell anyone if I have it?
- So do you have any questions Lluka? And would you be interested in getting tested today?
- No one will know other than you and me and anyone you choose to tell. You don't have to tell anyone that you have had the test or if the result comes back positive but it is encouraged that you tell previous sexual partners to ensure they get tested as well.We can also give you the antibiotics from the clinic here to start today, even before we get the results back so you have already started treatment if it does come back positive (STI, 2018).
- Okay let's do it then.
- Sounds good. Lets get a sample then I will send it away to the Lab for testing. I will also give you some medication to take home with you and explain how to take it.

- Not too bad, just want to know what my results are.
- Hi Lluka, how are you feeling today?
- Okay well your results have come back positive for Chlamydia but since we have already started your medication you should only need to continue for one more day and it should be cleared up.
- Oh no! Wait did you say only one more day?
- That's right, since we started the medication last week, just incase, you should only need one more day and it should be gone (STI, 2018). I'm also going to give you some contraception to take home for the future if that's okay?
- Okay sounds good, thanks for your help Nurse J.
