  • The Aztecs Orgin of location was in near the Gulf of Mexico in the 1500's of Teotihuacan. Their population was about 200,000 people which they used for sacrifice.
  • Human Sacrafice
  • The Aztecs were a strong good empire but there only issue was isolation. The Aztecs were out in the middle of a valley, trying to fix their problem they connected their city to the mainland using causeways. The Aztec religion was polytheistic and believed in many gods and worshipped them causing them to sacrifice for them.
  • Achievements
  • The social class was the Emperor or ruler on top, the nobles, the commoners, and the farmers and slaves. While the famers and slaves did much for the Empire they are on the bottom for social class
  • Decline of the Empire
  • The Aztecs were very into Human Sacrifice for the gods. Whether it meant giving blood for them to last or the killing of their own population. They would lose many of their warriors, slaves, or commoners to give to their gods. They in war had also kept their enemies alive to sacrafice them later.
  • The Aztecs were smart and had a triple alliance with Texcoco and Tiacopan. It gave Teotihuacan power with conquest and tributes helping them overcome other Empires and gain more land.
  • The decline of the Empire starts when the empire weakens, and Montezuma II makes the citizens pay tributes which made them angry. Another problem happening at this time was Hernan Cortez and the Spanish arrived looking like the god Quatzalcoatl so they dont fight them and Montezuma II was killed.
