- In a world called Middle Earth, a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins is greeted by a wizard named Gandalf at his front door. Bilbo decides that he doesn't want to talk to the wizard, so he tries to avoid him. Later, Gandalf comes back with thirteen dwarves to explain to him what was about to happen.
- Climax
- It turns out that a dragon named Smaug has taken over the mountain that belonged to the dwarves. That mountain was their home, and it has lots of treasure inside of it. The dwarves and Gandalf explained that they were about to embark on a journey to take back their mountain. However, before they could do that, they wanted a fourteenth member of their party, and Gandalf suggested that Bilbo be that fourteenth member.
- Falling Action
- After many hardships, they eventually reach the mountain. They were captured by trolls and goblins, chased by wargs, and they had to deal with starvation as well. The party reaches a room in the mountain where they encounter Smaug.
- Resolution
- After Smaug is slain, a large battle follows. In that battle, there are goblins, dwarves, elves, wolves, and men. Even Beorn makes an appearance. During the battle, Thorin is badly injured.
- Thorin lay in a tent, waiting for Bilbo to arrive. When Bilbo came, Thorin said his last words to him, and then he died.
- A funeral was held for Thorin, and all of the conflict between most of the races had settled. The elves, men, and dwarves were all on good terms. After saying his goodbyes to the dwarves, Bilbo returns to his hobbit hole.
