- No one will catch us breaking into the Watergate hotel on June 17, 1972.
- We are so sneaky! No one will catch us now! We will steal all the information needed for Nixon to win the election.
- In 1972- late 1973, a series of covert conversations occurred in an underground parking garage between investigatior Robert Woodward and an anonomys souce with the alias "Deep Throat" regarding the connection between US President Nixon and the Watergate break ins..
- Guys, I promise! I'm not a crook! I didn't do anything!
- As accusations mounted against Nixon, he denied any involvements in the break in.
- All rise!
- The senate was fiven power to investigate the situation, and it was revealed that the president had tapes of conversations that could possibly be incriminating to the the Nixon administration.
- Oh no! The jnvestigation and the white house tapes have ruined me! I have no choice but to resign!
- On August 8th, 1974, I resgined, and I never held political office ever again. I will now go on to travel abroad and to study foreign governments across the world. Anything to get away from the US.
