Act III, Scene 2
Juliet anxiously waits for her Nurse to return with news of Romeo. The Nurse tells her that Romeo killed Tybalt and was banished by the Prince. Juliet goes through a whirlwind of emotions at this news. To make her feel better, the Nurse promises that she will bring Romeo to her that night.
Romeo got banished?!I'll never see him again!
I'll go find him. You'll see him tonight!
Romeo killed Tybalt and now he's banished!
Friar Lawrence tells Romeo that he has been banished and tries to make him look on the positive side. Romeo throws a fit and threatens to kill himself. Juliet's Nurse finds them and tells Romeo to meet Juliet in her room that evening to say goodbye.
Good news! The Prince decided to banish you, not kill you!
My life is over! I might as well just end it now!
Juliet is just as sad as you are, Romeo. She'll be waiting for you to see her tonight.
Paris approaches Lord Capulet again to ask to marry Juliet. Capulet decides that they need something to celebrate, and agrees. They set the wedding for Thursday, and the Capulets make plans to tell Juliet when she wakes up in the morning.
I'll tell her in the morning!
Sure. We need something good to happen. How about Thursday?
I want to marry Juliet soon.
Juliet says goodbye to Romeo. Her mother tells her that she will marry Paris, and she refuses. Lord Capulet comes in and yells at Juliet, threatening to disown her if she won't marry Paris. He even threatens to drag her to the wedding if she won't go willingly.
I won't marry Paris!
You're a horrible kid! You'll either marry Paris or I'm going to disown you!
