- A kid named Brian Robeson was boarding a small plane to travel to his father's house in northern Canada. His mother got him a new hatchet to help his dad with cutting wood in Canada. On the flight there the pilot had a heart attack. The pilot then died right away.
- Chapter 4
- In chapter 2 Brian had fly the plane slightly to find a pond after the pilot had a heart attack. Brian was forced to think to fly into a near by pond close to where the plane was but it seemed as if the pond ended after the L shape.
- Chapter 5
- In chapter 3 Brian gets out of the crashed plane with the broken windshield at the lake bottom. He swims up and remembers the secret as he sits next to a big spruce tree. He thinks about when he saw his mom in the car window next to the man.
- Chapter 6
- In chapter 4 Brian sleeps through the night and wakes up very early. He stares out on the lake and looks at the plane and sees the pilot with his hair swaying still in his seat. He begins to swat at bugs when swarms come to get him biting him all over.
- In chapter 5 Brian thinks about how he may be found by searchers but changes him mind because they went off the flight track. He found an area suitable for him to live in for the time. He began to feel an intense hunger though.
- In chapter 6 Brian felt an intense hunger. He went looking in the woods looking for something to eat. As it was growing dark he stumbled upon red berries. He realized they had pits but didn't care and still ate them.
