- 1753: French troops attempt to claim Ohio valley, which cause the British to protest and claim it as their own which started a massive argument which led to a war.

- 1754: A French Nobleman and a third of his escorts were killed by a British patrol led by George Washington.
- 1756: The Seven Years' War was a global conflict, "a struggle for global primacy between Britain and France," which also had a major impact on the Spanish Empire. In Europe, the conflict arose from issues left unresolved by the War of the Austrian Succession

- 1759: French surrender Quebec after a battle outside the city on the Plains of Abraham.
- 1760: The British capture Montreal ending the conflict in North America. On September 8, 1760, almost a year to the day after the French troops were defeated on the Plains of Abraham, the British army seized Montreal.
- 1763: King George III signs the Proclamation of 1763 reserving land west of the Allegheny Mountains for Indians.
