- One day, Tanggang told his parents that he was leaving home to seek his fortune. He promised to return once he was rich so that they could have a better life.
- Although sad Tanggang was leaving, his parents gave them their blessing and prayed that he would return home safely.
- Tanggang soon started working on a ship and quickly impressed the ship's captain with his hard work and dedication.
