- Martin Luther King later engaged with Gandhi's philosophy and was inspired by the principles Gandhi taught and preached, so he incorporated them into his leadership during the Civil Rights movement (by promoting the same peaceful activism). The speeches that KIng gave that were influenced by Gandhi were later also taken into account in the school curricula.
