- Sue and Johnsy, two artists and best friends who are very talented in drawing rented a small flat in a old building.
- Glisser: 2
- In the building in which they are living, they had a neighbor named Mr. Behrman who also was a talented artist.
- Glisser: 3
- Johnsy was severely affected by pneumonia. She just used to lie in her bed without moving and used to look at a creeper ivy on a brick wall through the window, she told that she would lose all hope when the last leaf falls.
- Glisser: 4
- Is anything bothering Johnsy ?If she doesn't want to live, no medicine can cure her
- No, why do you ask that ?
- Glisser: 5
- While trying to find a way to make johnsy's thoughts better Sue came across Mr.Bhermen and it was raining outside and the leaves might fall.
- Glisser: 6
- Even after the strong rain, the last leaf of the creeper ivy did not fall and Johnsy got the spirit to live again and recovered. After that Sue and Johnsy combined their savings and made a drawing institute and the first thing they taught the children to draw was a leaf because we need to make our thoughts like a leaf, even though it gose through bad experiences we need to be happy.

- Sue was getting worried of Johnsy's condition, she called a doctor to try to make johnsy's condition better.
