  • That looks like fun.
  • Did you know that the pirate ship canconserve energy? This ride conserves mechanical energy just like the motion of pendulum. The ship is moving back and forth and that neglects air resistance.
  • That’s interesting. That man is operatingthe ride, isn’t he? They must’ve tested everything before people can ride onit, right?
  • Yes.Testing is very important because it keeps the people safe that are celebrating. Before the fiesta, they check the machines for bugs and defects that may causepotential harm. Testing guarantees the quality of the electronic components ofthe machines. Due to the testing method they used, it makes the machinecomponents and rides safer and easier to use.
  • There are also theatrical plays performedduring festivals. For example, look at that one! In fiestas, plays are oftenperformed in a covered or uncovered court with a stage on it. There are alsooccasions when they perform in front of the city hall.
  • Everything’sso lively and exciting. Infiestas, the creativity of Filipinos becomes obvious in all the colors andcostumes that you see. You can see how hardworking Filipinos are when you lookat everything they have prepared for the fiesta in order for others to enjoy.

  • So that’s what we are going to do. Come on, let’s go sit down and enjoy the show.
  • Now that everything is finished, I have two questions for you. What is a fiesta? And what do you think of Filipino tradition and fiestas?
  • A festival or fiesta is an occasion of a place to celebrate the important eventof that day.
  • Filipino tradition isn’t really that hard to accept because it’s something that we’ve grown up with and grown used to. It’s a part of our lives and we don’t really think too much on it. It’s fun and it’s a major part of our culture. You can kind of say that celebrating fiestas is one of the things that show our creativity and pride for our country.
  • Well said.
