- Juno persuades Aeolus, keeper of the winds, to unleash a storm on Aeneas and his men, wrecking them off the coast of Libya, where Carthage is being built.
- When Aeneas arrives in the main area of Carthage, he meets Dido, the Queen where he tells her all about his adventures in Troy. It is clear they are in love.
- After some great bonding, Dido pleaded Aeneas to stay, but he couldn't because he had to obey the God's will. Heartbroken, Dido stabs herself to death, cursing Aeneas upon her dying breath.
- Aeneas is told in a dream by the Gods that he must go to the underworld to visit his father, Anchises. So he does this and he meets his father where he shoes Aeneas what will happen to his descendants in the future. He also briefly meets Dido, where he tries to apologise for leaving her, but she refuses to speak to him.
- After leaving the underworld, Aeneas arrives in Italy, where he is greeted by Latinus, King of the Latins. He offered Aeneas his daughter, Latina in marriage, but she was already engaged to Turnus, a warlord.
- Because of Turnus' engagement to Latina, Aeneas had to go to battle against him, in which he emerged victorious, killing him in a destined one-on-one duel. This allowed him to be married to Latina.
