- Rainsford Met Zaroff
- Hi I'm Rainsford.
- Hi, I'm General Zaroff.
- "But no animal can reason."
- Zaroff gives him a Choice
- "I had to invent a new animal to hunt!"
- Rainsford was awakened by gunshots. As he was looking into the dark night, he dropped his pipe and as he reached for it, he lost his balance and fell into water. He had to swim to the nearest shore which was called Ship-Trap Island.
- Zaroff Hunts Rainsford
- "I shall be back."
- Must be quiet.
- "I've read your book about hunting snow leopards in Tabet, you see," explained the man, "I'm General Zaroff." "You see, I read all books on hunting published in English, French, and Russian. I have one passion in my life, Mr. Rainsford, and it's the hunt."
- Rainsford Escapes by Jumping in Water
- General Zaroff says, "You'll find this game worth playing," the general said enthusiastically, " Your brain against mine." "The choice rests entirely with you. But may I not venture to suggest that my idea of sport more diverting than Ivan's?"
- Rainsford beats Zaroff Sleeps in his Bed
- Best sleep ever.
- Zaroff has located Rainsford, but does not want the hunt to be over just yet.
- While being chased by General Zaroff, Rainsford jumps into the water to trick the general and swim to avoid the dogs.
- If I jump, the dogs will lose my scent.
- After tricking the General by jumping into the water, swimming to his house and hiding in his room, Rainsford told Zaroff, "Get ready, General Zaroff," and Rainsford killed him and slept in his bed peacefully.
