"Hello class!" "Today we will be taking some notes on parliamentary and presidential government."
Kids: "Ok!!"
"No they don't, Jackson"
"Ok, in a parliamentary government, the leader is called a prime minister." "In a presidential, they're called a president."
Kids: *writing down notes* Jackson: "So they don't call their leader a president like we do in the U.S.?"
"Yes Taylor, that happens in a presidential government."
"Just like a presidential government," *bell rings* "We will finish when we get back, head to lunch."
*loud lunchroom*
"My parents put their ballots in a voting box to vote."
"In a parliamentary government, the citizens vote for the House of Representatives. Then the House of Representatives appoints the leader."
"Yes they do Jackson, but instead of a House of Representatives and a Senate, they have a Chamber of Deputies and a Senate."
"Now class, we are going to talk about the government in Brazil."
I wonder what type of government they have??
"Brazil has a government called a federal republic. That means they have a republican government, and each state has certain powers."
"No, Brazil has many parties including communists, which the U.S. doesn't have." "But, they do have 3 branches of government like the U.S."
Jackson: "Does Brazil have a congress like we do?"
*raises hand* "Does Brazil have two political parties like we do?"
*bell rings* "That's it for today! Hope you learned a lot, and you can now get your book bags and head home."
