Sophie has been kidnapped by a giant! She doesn't know where she is.

The giant and Sophie have arrived in Giant Country. Sophie is terrified. She thinks that she is going to be eaten.

The giant explains that he is the Big Friendly Giant, and that there are nine other giants who eat children alive every night. Then he says he only eats snozzcumbers. He reveals he catches dreams and stores them in the jars around the cave. At night, he goes out and blows the good dreams into the windows of children and destroys the bad ones.
