- A long long time ago, when I was alive, there was a time between the 16th and 18th centuries called the enlightenment.
- Enlightenment stands for new ideas and creations. There were many of philosophers and scientists that contributed to helping improve scientific knowledge.
- At one point, there used to be a king that ruled everyone. This was called an absolute monarchy, because the king held complete power over everyone. It was thought that the king was chosen by God.
- Eventually, the people decided this was not fair and created a government. This government was split into three different branches. The executive, legislative, and the judicial. This was called the separation of powers, which was used to make sure one did not take advantage of his power.

- Something some people believed in was Deism. Deism is the belief of a god that does not intervene in the universe. This means that a god exists, but does not control anything that happens.
- Something most of us started to realize is that we needed rationalism. Rationalism means that statements need to be backed up with reason or proof to show that it is true, and also isn't just made up or an opinion.
- I mentioned all of these words or ideas because they were pretty important back then, and they still are today, they are just never mentioned.
- Of course, a lot of things people have now are much different, but some of them are for the better. I would've loved not having one person completely ruling over us and trying to make some unfair rules. My life was very much a struggle.
