- The narrator is explaining who he is and why he is there
- "I'm not mad you know"
- "I moved itslowly very, very slowly, so that I might not disturb the oldman’s sleep"
- The narrator spent 1h trying to open the door with a little candle to see the old man eye.
- “Who’s there?”
- The narrator opened the door but the old man heard him
- "I dragged him tothe floor, and pulled the heavy bed over him"
- The narrator grabbed the mattress and put it in the old's man face and the old man died.
- After killing the old man the narrator cut the man in pieces in a tub to wash up the blood and put the body under the floor.
- The police came and the narrator became mad saying he heard the old man's heartbeat.He felled really guilty and admitted the crime.
- I admit thedeed!
