  • The play is set Rome. Julius Caesar overthrew Rome's political order. He is assassinated when people believe he is becoming too powerful. 
  • "You all did see on Lupercal I thrice presented him a kingly crown,Which he did thrice refuse. Was this ambition?
  • As Caesar arrives in Rome after defeating Pompey and is greeted by a Soothsayer who tells him to "Beware the ides of March." This event creates an ominous sense of foreboding.
  • In this scene, Artemidorus writes Caesar a letter that warns him of Brutus, Casca and the other conspirators. Caesar refuses to receive this letter as he believes that whatever is the most important to him should come last.
  • In these scene, Antony uses his way with words to persuade the people that Caesar's death is not to be justified and that Caesar was not ambitious.
  • As Brutus is sitting in his tent, Caesar's ghost appeared. Caesar's ghost tells Brutus that he would see him at Philippi.
