- This is man vs man. Because Brian is mad at his mom for divorcing his dad and having the secret which Brian knows about. The secret is that his mom has a guy with her that he does not know about. I know this because on Page 30 it says" She sitting in a station wagon, a strange wagon. He saw her and she did not see him. Brian was going to wave or call out, but something stopped him the man next to mom."
- This is a man vs self.Because Brian is scared because he does not know how to fly the plane. The pilot dies Brian does not know how to fly the plane so he tries but he still thinks he will die. On page 25 it says "Going to die he wiped his mouth with the back of his arm held the nose down."
- This is man vs nature. Because Brian feels pain from the mosquitoes bites and from the plane crash. He feels pain from the secret. On page 34 it says " With it came some warmth, small bits of it a first, and with the heat came clouds of insects thick, swarming hordes of mosquitos that flocked to his body, made a living coat on his exposed skin, clogged his nostrils when he inhaled, poured into his mouth when he opened it to take a breath."
